“Rehab is the first band in my career that we signed based off of jukebox airplay”

From the band that released the popular TouchTunes favorite “Bartender Song (Sittin’ at a Bar)” comes the new single off their third major label album. “Welcome Home” highlights the band’s signature alternative rock and country rap sound. Rehab became one of the most successful artists across the TouchTunes Interactive Networks: Their hit single “Sittin’ at a Bar” off the album Graffiti the World, was the 10th most played song throughout the TouchTunes network in 2009. TouchTunes Interactive Networks provided the perfect platform for Rehab to develop a loyal and dedicated fan base. The band has gained commercial success and recognition due to the single becoming such a viral phenomenon.

“Rehab is the first band in my career that we signed based off of jukebox airplay,” said Avery Lipman, Co-President and COO, Universal Republic Records. “In a time where record labels are always trying to find outlets to expose new music, TouchTunes is and has been an invaluable resource.”

“TouchTunes brought Rehab from obscurity and into the public eye,” said Danny Boone, lead singer, Rehab. “In such a tough music market and landscape to stay relevant as an artist, they’re a great vehicle for artists to be discovered and stay in the public ear.”

“We’ve seen a huge audience of Rehab fans week after week and are thrilled to bring them a first listen of the band’s new single,” said Vicki Saunders, VP, digital media and music marketing, TouchTunes. “Rehab’s success is clear evidence that TouchTunes is a social network of music fans in a public space where music is discovered, shared, and enjoyed.”

The Georgia-based Rehab released their last album, Graffiti The World via Universal Republic Records. The bristling Mash-UP album deftly fused frontman/ founder Danny Boone’s stone cold hip-hop acumen with southern rock flavorings that saw the band’s signature single, “Bartender Song (Sittin’ At A Bar)” become ‘the’ digital jukebox phenomenon of the past decade. The gritty hit even caught the attention of chart topping arbiters of rock and hip-hop cuisine, such as Kid Rock and Kracker, who inquired about covering the resilient grassroots smash. The track has become the premier ‘Bar Song’ thanks to a keen viral marketing campaign by Rehab, reaching nearly a million plays in bars and clubs across America in 2007 alone. Rehab’s new kickoff single “Welcome Home” from their next album on Universal Republic, is already creating tremendous buzz and is gearing up to raid radio stations across the nation.

More About Rehab

Formed in the late ‘90s, pioneering mash-ups of scorching rock and searing rap, Rehab released its debut album, Southern Discomfort in 2000, filled with an array of guest stars including Cee–Lo, Goodie Mob and Cody Chestnutt. The album spun off the top 15 modern rock hit “It Don’t Matter” and sold more than 140 thousand units. This success enabled the band to kick off a 2-year national tour supporting the Vans Warped Tour and bands like Kotton Mouth Kings and Linkin Park. After some restructuring in 2006, the band debuted its successful album Graffiti the World whose single, “Bartender Song (Sitting at the Bar),” was a runaway hit.
